Subject often comes up some might find my results interesting for 21ft trailer sailer.
No 1 son used an android phone to log the race done yesterday on Swan River (estuary)
Results were going downwind under spinnaker average 11.7kmper hour ie nearly 6 knots witha max of 15kmperhour or 7.5 knots.
Going back up wind averaged 9.7kmper hour or about 4.4 knots. Total about 23 kms or 12.5nm in 2 hrs and 7 mins.
This was in winds averaging 18 knots and no tidal movement worth mentioning. No 3 jib and one reef.
The upwind leg was fairly wet giving sons the tiller meant my official job was water breaker sitting on the side of the cabin for ballast and supposed to stop everyone else getting wet. All good fun but I think olewill is getting too old for this madness.
