boat show / wife

Want to go to boat show this year but wife not keen so expensive compromise . Thought i would treat wife to night in Hilton Park Lane , shopping in West end on Saturday nice dinner in Hilton . Then Sunday boat show, is this a good compromise or do you think she will be moaning within 5 minutes of entering earls court ! I:E feet ache too many people , why are you loooking at the dolly birds on the stands , you cant afford to buy that! Or should i instigate a row and spend weekend on boat without her. decisions decisions.

Re: boat show/wife/shoes

The expenisve bribe will tire her feet in the first place. Much better to row about it first. If you must take her, go straight for the sunseeker bar, order large bottle of fizz, and leave her to it. Cheaper, and must less wearying for her aching feet. New shoes won't help either - women alway moan about the ache with NEW shoes, not old ones.

Your question suggests that you plan to take her along to win tacit approval for fab new boat purchase? A variant of the MattS Patented boatbuying gambit would be to ask the nice boat salesman for an order form, fill everything in (except the signature) and take it all back to lighly sozzled wife having signed it whilst away on the way back, and showing her the bottom copy. Good laugh anyway.

Re: oh and Hilton

Everyone seems pissedoff at the Hilton in the tower at the top. The people in the middles are upset that they didn't get a window. The people with a window view are upset becuase the view is crap, and/or it's dark. Lots of peculiar and unmatched couples too, saying things like "where do you usually go afterwards?" and such.

Concoct a row about something inconsequential, storm out of the house, go to the Show, come back next day with nice pressie and make up. Might work, might not! Won't know if you don't try, but at least you won't have all the stress of wondering what to do with her at the Show etc.

However much you offer inducements, its a basic fact of married life that wives dont like tramping around Boat Shows (unless you're married to PaulineB, of course) and husbands dont like tramping around Harrods. So, do yourself a favour, send 'er indoors out with the credit card to the Shops whilst you mooch around the Show unhindered by any whining. Then arrange to meet at a posh eaterie in the evening. She will be feeling guilty 'coz she's just blown £800 at Harvey Nicks on a dress the size of face flannel and you'll be feeling guilty because you've just blown £2k on a new radar so there's every chance you'll be nice to each other

If she isn't interested in boats, why are you interested in her?

Don't you think a trade-in is a good idea.

Taxi Fares

According to this months mby your little feature on boat finance states you are a taxi driver from Brighton, a 9K tax bill must mean your fares are more than London cabs, or am I missing something?.

Not mean, just realistic!

In any event the interest needs to be tested. ie: force 7 and a lumpy seaway and will she come back for more!

Personally I'm spoken for by the said sexy creature who is keen on boats.
