As usual at the baot show there is a lack of rest areas to sit and rest for awhile. However as an MDL user my wife and I went to their new hospitality suite which this year over looked the boats in the water. This was a very welcome rest for my old legs! Thanks to MDL for that.
However, what about all those other visitors? There just is not enough places to sit down, we went to the food halls and you could not find a table or chair that was available. People pounce on them as soon as someone gets up!
You would think the organisers would realize that if we get our second wind we are more likely to stay longer at the show and possibly spend a few extra pounds!
A few of the smaller obscure stands where actually very good, with helpful staff. Stands such as Raymarine and Marinesuper store were not interested, there under sufferance. In fact at Raymarine I had the distinct impression that I was not wanted! The sales treated me like an idiot.
I found a very good stand near the Holiday Inn, selling rope. A reasonable price, pleasant people to deal with and I came away feeling I had a good deal amd dealt with nice people. I cannnot remember the name of the company, off hand, but they are based in Leicester.
Have you noticed how every year the same stands are in the same location? I actually did not need a guide this year, I knew where the stands would be! /is that a good thing or a bit boring?
