is it just me??

I walked round the show on the first Friday with a pen & paper, I had my list of bits I wanted, I went on to one stand to order some blinds, the guy said we will call you next week.

the next stand was a new seat and fron for my tender, we gave measurements and awaiting the call with the quote.

Then we went to that diesel bug cleaner, he put my number in his book and will call after the show.

Then found a stand who did underwater lights, paid for them and he said he would post.

ordered 6 fenders in black paid for them and he was going to find out if they do black covers, before sending out

The underwater lights arrived last week.

still waiting for the rest, its like the old mushroom scene.

Phill,

As a sales director myself it never ceases to amaze when companies who spend a fortune on exhibitions fail to respond to an enquiry!!!???

I suggest you go straight to the M.D. of the companies that are letting you down and complain........

If they were my sales team they would have a severe bollxing!!!!

Any enquiry in these economic times is a valued one and should at least be followed up.

Rob.

Yep me too, still waiting for a quote from 2 sailmakers. It's too late for them now as I've already ordered from a more efficient loft. They will probably soon be complaining about how bad business is....

Placed an order at the show for a new sprayhood ... was told it would probably be the later part of the following week before we received confirmation .... which duely arrived within stated timescale.

No problems with CJ Marine! (and I never thought I'd say that!)

I went to discuss something with Premier Marinas at the show. It was too difficult for stand staff so they promised to call. They didnt. I emailed Premier head office and got a return receipt but no reply. Why do they bother spending money on the show if they then ignore the leads.
Next stop the MD.

Phill, i'm looking to install some underwater lights. Can i ask how much£ and what company you bought them from please :-)

Cheers
Si

Well I looked at the lumishore ones and others, I got several quotes one place wanted £1,100 per light then there was a controller was working out a fortune for them. at the boat show there was a stand with them in a clear underwater box, I did a deal and paid less than £200 each and got a few of them. I accept they are not as good, they dont change colour, but I put one on a temp wire and attached it to the boat hook and put it under the swim platform and its not as good, but its a 20th of the price and half the quality so I am happy.

details here E C Smith & sons Marine Factors 01582 729 721/2

Im not connected to them just a happy customer, who got 1 thing he ordered,

I also forgot I bought 2 fenders at the show they have not arrived either.

I ordered and paid for 8 fenders on the first Sunday of the show, was told that shipments would start on Monday, 2 phone calls to them allready, 1st call we were told that the guy who procceses the orders was on holiday, 2nd call they would be shipped out last week, still waiting!!, it really pisses me off:mad:
