Boat Show next Saturday

Gordon and I will be there (actually, every day from Wednesday to Saturday) on one of the Sirius boats. There is one of Alshira's sisters and a 35 there, so the German yard wanted some UK owners to come to help - we are taking turns with the other UK owners - there are only about 8!
Come and say hello!

Jane and I have a rare weekend on board next weekend but if the weather is rubbish we might just take a drive down to the South Coast on Saturday or Sunday

Had a great day there yesterday helped by the fact we sold our racing sails to another Sigma 38 boat. Some useful discounts particularly if paying in notes. Their wifi is very flaky and many stalls were only able to process cash transactions for a while.
The Premier Marina stand was very hospitable free coffee and super biscuits and a great view of the boats. Sales pitch suitably embraced ensured a good spot for an hour and a couple of coffees later we departed.
MES had some good offers and it was refreshing to be able to mooch around lots of normal sailing stalls as opposed to being confronted by the sharply dressed sales people booking you in for the tour of the Oyster 725 or other leviathan motor cruisers.
Met an Olympic silver medalist windsurfer Nick and Sarah from Pin Mill launching her new book at the RYA stand.
Parking in the multi story west quay was a fiver great value!

Larin, we have a shogun just under 2m, the West Quay retail park just up from the show entrance next to Ikea is an easy walk. In fact we exchanged sails there first before going to the multi storey car park. Mind you it will cost more than a fiver for the day. I think it was either £1 per hr or £1.50 per hr. but it is open and not multi storey. The car park is for Halford, Staples etc.

Given that the forecast for Sunday / Monday is frankly pants and we've got a long weekend (typically) Jane and I are thinking of making the journey down to Southampton on Saturday so might see you there

Good to see some of you there on Saturday. It was a super day and very crowded - we were overwhelmed at the Sirius boats. Sunday was horrible, though. The show was very empty, but a few hardy souls made it to warm up in our deck saloons!
