I want to buy a main outboard engine (resricted to Tohatsu as only they do ultra long shaft in this size - but thats ok as I highly rate Tohatsu) and there were several SBS based discounts available from dealers in September but these offers were time limited and I have missed out now. These discounts seemed to be fairly consistent at about 5% (£150 on around £3000).
My query is whether to buy now at current prices or wait until the London Boat Show and hope that similar discounts are offered, the risk is that if VAT increases 2.5% from january and there are manufacturer price increases this could end up costing me more not less, by waiting.
Any experiences of boat show discounts normally available or other words of wisdom on this.
