hi all
still new to boating but getting there!
thinking of having boat serviced any body had their boat serviced by peter hardicker your comments would be grateful.
or recommendations near preston would be helpful price quoted was £250 + vat for full engine/outdrive service on a merc 5.0 and alpha leg does this price sound ok? would like a good job done.

Very good price - bite his arm off! Would cost that just for stern drive down here!
 
............assuming he DOES actually carry out the full service rather than just changing the oil and giving you a nice bill for £250 squids plus EU membership penalty tax.

How can you check his work ?
 
i believe their is a lot of trust on servicing cars or boats recommendation is only the way forward.
i have got a service book on my engine but i am not a mechanic so have to pay my way.
he is a mobile service so i suppose overheads are low

peter is your man. he serviced my draco with 350 magnum mercruiser for about 6 years up at windermere. he is also a mastercraft technician.
