hi all
new to boating i have a maxum 26ft boat with a 5.0 v8 engine i am going to have it serviced v soon how much should i expect to pay a boat yard and also what do they do i.e is it like a car oil etc but do they check electrics pipes hull. any recommendations near preston north west area all you advice would be greatly appreciated

On a straight engine service they wont check anything else unless you ask them.

I have a 5.7 and recently paid about £250 for a full engine service inc parts and £450 to servive the outdrive, again inc parts.

Every 2 is recommended, which isn't too bad as the biggest cost for me is the lift out.

please, please, please do not neglet your leg/gearbox. I was tight and didnt service my volvo drive on a 97 chris craft and after about 7 or 8 hours in blew itself to bits. Cost £2700.00 to replace, all for the sake of a £300 service!

A painful lesson, so I have mine done every year.

It's a £300 service but costs me £400 for the lift out and drop back. I'll stick to every other year.
