Boat sales

Have any of the formites any preference on the best place to advertise a boat? I would like to try some of the lower priced one before I shell out £100 plus for an IPC advert. As it's not the best time of year I thought I may see if anyone knows any cheap (or free) internet sites I could try.

Private boat ads, with a picture, are free in 'Sailing Today' and have been for several months.
I once sold a boat very quickly in the boats section of 'Adtrader'.
The most popular site seems to be www.boatsandoutboards.co.uk.

yep boatsandoutboards every time.... just sold a boat at asking price in 2 weeks via there, and received loads of enquiries.....

Free ads in Sailing Today now. Sold my boat in Essex to a man from Dublin who drove all the way with a trailer and paid almost the asking price unseen and no survey. Everything is very expensive in Eire.
Free ads on YBW if under £10,000
Apolloduck.com seems to cover Ireland too.

I agree with boatsandoutboards.... I bought mine through them, and would sell through them too. I looked at the other sites, but boatsandoutboards seems more popular and always has more for sale - depending on which area of the market you are in of course.

It's now on Boatsand outboards. I have looked at the Sailing Today website and can't find anywhere to put the advert, I assume I have to wait until tomorrow and buy a magazine.

We sold our last boat there.

The free ads are in the magazine.

If you buy mags at least 6 months of the year its's cheaper to subscribe and get them in the post - mine arrived last week.

You email them the ad and picture - I agree, it's a confusing web site!

Great, thanks to you all. I've put free advertisments on Boatsandoutboards and Apolloduck. If anyone knows of any other internet based free sites I will try them. I will then report back to say which gives the best results.
