It is almost time for our boat to renew it's Boat Safety Certificate and as this is the first time I have had to have this done I wondered if anyone has any recommendations for examiners and prices I should expect for a Sealine 218 single engine? The boat is at Harleyford marina.

Like the BSS website suggests I have emailed three examiners but only had one reply so far which quoted £95 and £45 retest fee. Is this about right?

Many thanks in advance of any suggestions.

Fee seems about right to me. I paid the same 2 years ago.

I paid £80 a few weeks ago and did not need a retest, which was a first as I have always failed first time on previous inspections :-), you do however have to pay a futher £40 for the actual certificate
