Yacht Purchase – planning to buy a new (used) boat and interested in recommendations and thoughts!
Looking to spend £50K/£55K but would stretch if a ‘peach’ became available. Family of 5 – 3 keen sons 13-17-20 with middle son able-bodied special needs (Worster Drought Syndrome). Saturday sailing; Family cruising plus annual chaps week. East Ireland and West Scotland.
Keen that able sons could take boat out with their friends, as their confidence grows – so nothing that would scare them. Also want to take out boat with just self and special needs son – so relatively tame. But having said that – keen that boat would reward sailing-for-sailings-sake.
I am not hugely practical – can service an engine but most other things call for a professional. Would walk away from a project.
Previous boats Bavaria 38 (sold 2010) - Westerly Merlin – Gib Sea 76 – brought up in 33 Waquiez Gladiateur.
Especially interested to hear from anyone who has transacted in last 18 months as looking to gauge asking/agreed price ratio.
