Hi All, New boat arrived at dealers on low loader on Friday, heating, vhf, and other new toys being fitted during this week and she goes in the water on Friday. Is there a tradition for a naming ceremony, or are we trying to be to posh? We fully intend to open a few bottles of Champagne,and will anoint the bows with a glass, what else do we have to do to ensure a long and happy relationship?

Has been previous threads on re-naming but I am not aware of one for first naming. I think getting P****D on a good vintage will suffice.
What boat ?

Hi Paul, congrats on getting new boat, hope you have loads of fun.
When I bought a new boat, I decided to get my ageing Mother to perform the naming ceremony. Unfortunately there was a delay, and my friends decided to tuck onto the booze to pass the time, they also included my Mother. So when the boat was launched it went like this........... I name this ship "Cor Blimey" (Cordelia), God Bloss Her and all who shail in her.
Most embarasing.

Good luck with the new aquisition. Sounds like a nice boat. NOW the expense starts.
