I want to put the boat's name onto the cockpit sidescreens. Any suggestionss of the best way to do/get this done, please? What has been good and long-lasting for you? The side screens are made of a vinyl, and of course are slightly flexible

Many thanks

Leaving aside the practicalities of putting the name somewhere that will likely be folded while the boat is in use, I used Funky Monkey for my boat graphics and they were brilliant - I'm sure they could advise.

I wanted the boats name put on a set of existing dodgers, is that what you mean by sidesceens? The local canvas guy wanted £8 per letter. I found the cheapest suitable lettering from Kayospruce - 9" vinyl letters about 50p each. After the some discussion my wife said she would try sewing them, and did an astounding job using a domestic (Aldi) machine. They were first positioned and stuck with Copydex fabric glue. then zig-zag on edges. Total price less than 1 letter from professional!

Kayospruce said they could cut letters in different styles and sizes if need be, but I went with their standard ones.

Thank you, all three of you for your suggestions. One thought you have given me is to get the lettering from Funky Monkey, and after sticking, to reinforce it with over-sewing! I hadn't thought of that beforehand!

I hear about the length ofthe name...but the dodgers on my boat are very short....so no space. Fortunately, her name has only 5 letters! I didn't think of a short name being a financial benefit before. Alan, you are so right.

So thank you all for replying and giving me great ideas.

Best wishes, keep safe, and enjoy your dry-land sailing!!

Not so Purplexed!!:)
