Boat Make Advice

Hi, I'm currently seriously considering getting rid of my 27' Bayliner in favour of a yacht around the 30ish' mark. My wife and I are pretty much fair weather, cruiser style sailors and are trying to find something which maximises cockpit space even at the expense of a smaller cabin as there are just the two of us to consider. Does anybody have any ideas because so far I haven't found anything on the internet which fits the bill that isn't a Catamaran and they are out of the price range I am interested in, i.e. I'm after something below £ 40K if at all possible. All advice gratefully rx’d!

For cockpit space, you could look at boats primarily designed as racers/cruisers. For e.g. a Sigma 33, an OOD34, a Hunter Impala.

You could probably get any of them for your budget and have change left for a bit of tarting up.

I may well get blasted for this suggestion, but have you looked at the Legend range?

I have sailed in company with this make of yacht, and they were pretty good to watch. Down-wind, admittedly. But there is a lot of space both within the accomodation, and in the cockpits of these yachts, and they do seem to cover serious distances, so they must be OK for a lot of folks.

We've got one and the cockpit comfort is excellent and her sailing abilities are excellent. Holman & Pye designed; basically a French version of an Oyster 34.
