Next week we've not booked any courses so that the huge "to do" list can be tackled on
both boats. This includes fitting the 48" array scanner to my little F36, and connecting it
to the RL80c we managed to put up recently. Trouble is we've gotta take down the nav
light, find someone who can bend a new length of SS, to make it come out further then up
to miss the new scanner.
Oh and oil changes always fun, plus lots of other things. Mind you I quite like boat
maintanence, good for the sole, though not good for SHMBO/forums/images/icons/frown.gif

Well I bought the RL80c Raymarine plotter/radar complete with the 48" scanner
second hand for an amazing price.
I did try to see if I could swap the array for a small say 24" raydome but failed
to find any takers. So given that the array is apparantly far superior to a smaller
domed one, I have decided to fit it notwithstanding the size, which is the same
width as the radar pod, and the prob with the nav light

Yuri Geller lives just down the road from Byron, he might give you a hand.

Well managed to winch the 36kg 48" scanner up onto the pod today, and got the thing fired
up, only in the Marina so far. Will take it out tomorrow and set it up, looks very good
on the RL80c screen. Just gotta get some of those C map thingies now.

Ahhh now this must be Rob I've heard all about, Hi Rob Clive here.
Listen he may be strong but I'm no spring chicken either. We managed to get it onto the
pod alright, Neil had to take her on a half day charter yesterday, so we havent had
time to set it up yet. He did report that whilst going through some lumpy seas off Gib the pod
can be seen reacting a bit so my have to look again at it. 36kg is quite heavy.

All's going well down here lots of pupils and a fair amount of charters. No major probs
yet with the boats, this weeks maintenance should help to avoid such.
Hope to meet you one day Rob, Regards CGN
