Hi,

I'm looking here for insurance:
http://www.craftinsure.com/index.html

It is a for a Sea Ray 215 EC 1997.

Could someone confirm these options?
Boat Type: Motor Boat (Tidal)
Boat Value: £18,000
Speed: 30 - 40 mph
Boat Age: 0 - 10 yrs
Where kept: Marina / Dry Sail
Yachtmaster: No

I presume this is classed as a tidal boat? And does anyone know the speed? It is a single 5.7l V8 petrol mercruiser

That comes to £250 - I think that sounds about right?
Are there other insurers I should consider?

Tidal or non tidal depend on where you are keeping or using the boat. If using it on the coast, then yes, tidal.

In terms of speed, with a 5.7 in that size boat, will be suprised if you don't do well over 40 mph, so need to declare that

Value is what you've paid for it, but you may have to declare items kept on the boat, which will add considerably for a typical boater

As to which insurance company, so someside by side evalutations. Make sure the leg (propulsion bit outside the boat on stern) is well covered, as many insurance companies impose all sorts of limitations, which can be costly if you have damage there, as often more vulnerable than hull

Thanks for your reply.

Where it asks 'Boat Name' - is this 'Sea Ray 215 EC' or the name assigned to the boat? This boat isnt registered, but it has a boat name on the side.

Thanks

Floob.

If the boat isn't registered in any way, the name of the boat is simply what you call it (you don't have to name it, and if you don't, just say so) or the name you put on it. If it's registered, the name on the hull and the name on the register should be the same as you insure it under

'Sea Ray 215 EC' is make and model for most insurance purposes, same as insuring a car, where you tell them it's a VW Touareg V10 diesel or whatever

Well, you might think it was a minor incident, but I can assure you the residents of said island have long memories and are still intent on reparation if they can identify the guilty party.

They are aware of your impending return to the scene and, as Teddington Lock operates 24/7 it might be a good idea if you were to make your final approach under cover of darkness with lights off and engines running in silent mode.
