My renewal from Bishop Skinner dropped on the doormat over Christmas so today I've been internet shopping and have purchased cover from Craft Insure, payable via monthly installments. Their cover seems rather cheap - anyone got any comments on this.

I used to use them on an old inland cruiser, got a split hull after being t-boned by someone arsing about and they paid out just fine, I had to get 2 estimates and they said they could pay the repairer direct or I could pay the repairer and have the cheque made out to me, once I sent the invoice I got payment within days.
I lost my excess as the other boat gave me false details so they couldn't clobber them for it.

I've been insured with them for 4 years. Never had to claim which is the acid test, but seem efficient and well organized.

Got a quote from them this year hundreds cheaper than my insurer, they matched it better by 50€ not to lose the buisness.

I was with Craftinsure up 'til October then switched to...

Bishop Skinner as they gave me a cheaper quote and their cover is a bit better. e.g. no high and doubled excess for sterngear damage and 'marina benefits' whereby there is no excess or loss of no claims if boat is damaged whilst on permanent berth.
