Boat hire - La Rochelle

I am heading by car ( /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif ) to La Rochelle for a week, for post-contract recuperation.

Does anyone know of a place to hire a reasonable sailing boat, say about 30 - 35 ft, possibly with a skipper, for a day, pls ?

No (recent) personal experience but if you Google under "Location voilier, La Rochelle" you should find a selection. Most people will be able to communicate in English.

I can't remember the name of the company but a few years ago there was a well established charter operation operating from the main marina.

I skippered some yachts for French company charters there. Go to the marina office they have always been very helpful, or look for a line of bendy toys, they were based at the South west corner of the marina, with an office near the shops/cafes.
