ha! so have i ...and my mind's blank most of the time.... just ask the others.....
the most important part of mooring is knowing that your boat will not drift away.... you can tie the best knot in the world.... lock it over with another corker of a knot... nail it to the quayside.... cover it in tar.... even use epoxy.... but there will always be that little space in the back of your mind that wonders if you actually attatched it to the boat!

Incidentally did any of you dudes know that MikeT was on the team that won the national boat handling championship a year or two back... Sorry Mike, I know you would rather hide your light under a fender but what's the point in being good at something if no one else knows.
Come to think of it the driver's mind was probably blank.

Hah! thats an Oxymoron when talking about Blakey, the man that puts whiskey on his cornflakes.
This blank mind thing must be a male fad, coz ive never had it, and on the subject of the competition, Dad admit it you couldnt do it without me and mum. It is a well known fact that 'some' skippers make crap crew. I remember the time that i first competed as skipper, it was so easy all i had to do was park the boat or move her the way i wanted her to go - no deciding which rope was best, throwing the rope and not missing in front of all those people, having to deal with the skipper shouting at you.
I miss all that in fact. Byron a mission for you - get my mum and dad out of retirement and get them to compete at the ATYC in August! Please!
