Although we have had the boat for a couple of years my wife seems to be getting more and more nervous about being out on the boat which means we don't go out nearly as often as I would like. Also if I am honest the tide sometimes runs very hard through our marina and I too would like to feel a bit more confident in these conditions so I think some formal tuition may well help. Does anyone have any recommendations for a bit of pontoon bashing instruction in the Plymouth area ?
many thanks
Tim

I cant for Plymouth, but I see you are in Ludlow and the Conwy estuary runs hard through the harbour pontoons with two local marinas for finesse work. If you come unstuck and want some of the best tuition on the block look no further than Kawasaki of this parish. He bashes my pontoon regularly. Not sure if he will do own boat tuition in your neck of the woods but it cant harm to ask him.

Don’t tend to chase jobs as I’m now retired, but as I love being at sea, I do like to use my qualifications & experience on the odd bit of tuition or boat delivery;
This was for myself, last May, collect my new boat from Turku and bring her home to Falmouth, 9 days; https://youtu.be/AuWXnc7D4DE
This was last November, delivery with owner, Lowestoft to Port Edgar, 3 days; https://youtu.be/y349lGhJdNk
Latest job; 1 day’s own boat tuition in Falmouth on a Targa 42
Incidentally, Seastoke implies you’re a Potteries man? Ditto, left in 1984

Yep and I like a pound as well ,great bid by the way

Hi, did you go ahead with the training? If so, how did it go?

sorry for the late reply , yes all went well half a day pontoon bashing which really helped me and a full day when he taught my wife the basics of boat handling and man over board drill which has really helped her confidence when we are out at sea.

Great, glad all went well for both you and your wife.
Would you mind me asking who you used for instruction? I am currently looking at a training school based over at Yacht Haven as the school I have used for other courses based at QAB seem to have closed.
I have just upgraded from a 24ft single outdrives to a 35ft twin outdrive and I too am looking at ‘Pontoon Bashing’ And getting in and out of Torpoint Harbour without causing chaos

mayflower marina where I keep the boat, recommended Nigel Mashembo tel. 07816 681027 .
He's a really nice guy , put Jane fully at ease but I warn you he's very busy- he does a lot of stuff abroad but give him a try.

I was going to suggest SeaRegs training (who also own Plymouth Sailing School), but I hope you've found someone suitable.

Hi, I have been in touch with Plymouth Sailing School thanks. Hopefully get something sorted over the next couple of weeks - just need some good weather. I’m not like the sailing types, I like sun and no wind.
