I'd like to patent a new idea for a TV programme.

I get sent away with a good excuse for two days and then a group of experts called by SWMBO then descend onto our boat. They then do all the jobs that I've always been meaning to get round to and improve on things where they can. I then turn up, big look of surprise on my face and get presented with a glass of fizz to celebrate all the great work thats been done.

If anyone would like to discuss this further then please contact my agent immediately. We will need to arrange a trial weekend and find a suitable boat.

P.S. I draw the line at a Gazebo.

You realize that you will hate the results, which will look really garish/tacky and start peeling off in 2 months and you will pay a fortune to get it fixed. Oh different programme.

If you want your decks washed in a ghastly shade of pale green, with matching satin orange coachroof, 4 tons of sculpted seagull poo on the foredeck, and a water feature in your anchor well, then it will be a roaring success.
To add to the drama, why don't we pick a lucky unsuspecting recipient with say, a newish Malo 45 and give it a full makeover, getting rid of all that staid interior. Take out the bulkheads and replace with diaphanous chiffon, with some lovely earthy cushion covers and a refurbished Aga in place of the Taylors Galley. Lots of magnolia to give it light.... I can't wait.

Isnt there already one? "Salvage Squad" or similar didnt they do a terrible job of refurbishing a Thames barge using expanding foam to cork the underneath of the decking?
