Boat equipment - investment priority

Hi,

In order of priority, what would you buy first...

o Chartplotter upgrade - 'cos old one is innaccurate (old-gps) and you can't get chart updates any more
o DSC VHF
o Bowthruster upgrade - 'cos current one is underpowered

My pref. is that above. Do you agree?

My motto is SAFETY first. All the items could be argued to be safety-related.
I agree with your priorities, even if I will be doing soon VHF DSC first (mandatory requirement for my next boat inspection in Portugal), replacement of halon fire extinguishers at the same time, and last but not least (may be next year) replacement of my old Cetrek 757 chart plotter.

I'd agree your ranking. Look at the Raymarine HSB2 plotters. Incredibly cheap right now, because being replaced by E series, and top quality gear
