Pretty awful. I know from experience on the Mersea Hammer Head how long it takes emergency services to get out into the country. Plenty of time for fire to really take a hold.

It is not impossible that the boat was burned deliberately by the yard. They have disposed of several wrecks of old wooden boats that had been abandoned in their yard over the last few years by burning them.
The fire service may have only got involved because the fire was in danger of spreading.
