As a serial boat boat looker, have been all over the south east looking at sub 35ft stuff. One fairly new boat stood out above all others as being pretty sad.As the boat is fairly local and expensive have to be a bit careful, but the boat was in a very neglected conditon and was engined for up river ditch crawling not for the area it is being used in.The interior was falling to bits and virtually all the standard kit was either totally U/S or hanging on by its teeth,It has also had some curious modifications to the hull.Obviously a certain very well respected hull designer whos name starts with an "O" did not get it quite right. The engines had not seen any service bits since god knows when.
Now either this boat was bought by some keen chap and has had a fortune spent on it before resale or the thing has just been put up for sale by the ever optimistic original owner again.Described as being" in loverly conditon and ready for new season".
Some poor so and so is going to travel miles to look at this thing.

Not ok to tell those fibs imho

The fibs will not survive any survey, so just a waste of everyone's time.

Oldgit, maybe post a link to some 35ish foot boat that you feel might be of general interest. Specifically, I DONT mean a link to THAT boat, no of course I dont mean that, I mean a link just to a typical 35 foot boat that you might have looked at, you know, one that's described as being in quite good condition.

well mine's for sale, tho at 49' not your critera, best to tell the truth, just put it on two boat for sale web sites TELLING THE TRUTH. I've found a load of time wasters posing as potential purchasers one of which has been well documented on here.

Think both buying or selling is bad news, only good bit is actual boating.

Having gone thru the mill last year, when looking for replacement for departed pride & joy, it appears, IMHO, that people (broker/individuals) have ready made rose coloured glasses, coupled with exceeding creative imagination, when describing/showing that which they are trying to offload. On 3 occasions, having driven a fair no of miles, we were off the vessel we had gone to look at, within a couple of minutes. Grease, Filthy bilges, uncleaned loo,s, stained upnolstery, and rusting lumps of engines ( I assumed that they were) really go a long way to selling ones boat......I thought that presentation was the way to go. Do people actually buy cars that have dog poo on the seats, crisp packets on the floors, full ashtray's etc. etc.

Sometimes the potential buyers can be just as bad.
When I had a boat for sale at Poole a chap from Plymouth phoned me up and seemed very interested, after chatting awhile he asked for a trip out. I said I’d phone him back to arrange it.
When I phoned back his wife answered and when I suggested the Saturday she let the cat out of the bag and asked if it could be Sunday morning as they were going to the Southampton boat show on the Saturday.
Nice weekend if you can swing it.

Sounds like my boat when I bought her three years ago...sure you hadnt made a wrong turn at Dover and ended up in Swansea?
Mind you I did get her cheap, and She's a lot better now, as long as I continue to spend lots of money on her...

Steve.

Not talking about the boat mentioned previously of course but suspect that the owner of a possibly very similar boat is not active. www. wise. Our local free-ads paper would be the sort of place to find his advert, advertised at a tad under 40K should get loads of interest.Still, may be two boats of exactly the same spec, year and engine lying within the same stretch of water, one absolutely in perfick condition and the other .............
