Boat cover help please

I want to find out the best way to support a boat cover on a 14 foot open boat. Have looked at tonneau cover supports but they do not appear high enough to let the rain run off. Any ideas please. thanks in anticipation

Modern dome type tents use flexible aluminium poles. Maybe you could adapt something of that kind?

Just to clarify - is this a permanent part of the boat, or a lay-up cover for the winter? Is is just for rain protection or do you want to do a bit of small boat cruising and are really looking for a boom tent type of thing?

I have found that the cheap plastic tarps will not last that long if the lashings are just tied through the eyes. You normaly end up with the lashing and metal ring hanging down and the tarp blowing in the wind. I now feed the end of the lashing through the ring, take several turns round the tarp itself above the ring, then bring the end back down and finish with a rolling hitch this way the weight is taken by the tarp not the bit of string round the edge of the tarp which is seldom tied into a continuous loop.
