Bray Cruiser club AGM last night - filthy weather, out of season. long way from home for many.

So, how did they get something like 50% (give or take) of the members to attend, cram into a portakabin clubhouse and eat fish and chips for a fiver?

Well done guys and gals - guess you must be doing something right !

Attracting good new members is one part of the answer.
But where was No Regrets to collect all his silverware, I know it's not theOscars but I thought at least he might have sent Mariah Carey to collect them in his place.

One of the most enjoyable AGMs I have ever attended - but then I wasn't driving!

Chance for some a have a good old moan ? :)

Alex came along to collect his pots and to prevent Brayman from drinking all the Speckled Hen.

And I came along to insult B1!

(Mission accomplished!) :)

Must admit to being a little surprised at the number of people who showed up myself. AGM usually attracts a fair number but could barely move in the club house on Saturday.

As someone else said, guess we must be doing something right, only problem is we're gonna need a bigger portakabin soon!

Mind you the crowd did thin out a bit by 1:00am, was easier to wander round and talk to people then.

Wasn't too keen on getting up Sunday morning for the committee meeting though and neither were some of the others judging by the apologies for absence!

Darren.

PS A certain person won so many trophies that he was trying desperately to give them away rather than have to clean them all and it wasn't No Regrets...

Alex took all his home, but he put a couple of the team trophies back on the table.

He was trying to persuade Marian to go in for Lady Skipper next time....

How big was Brayman's beer can mountain by the end of the evening?

Sadly, I was 5000 miles away in South Africa at the time, but did convey the message to the management!

Sorry to have missed the fine evening, and indeed there have been a couple of other meetings missed due to other comitments (Mainly the new job!) which could not have been avoided.

2010 will see us attending every single Bray event (other than journeys our Boat isn't quite up to) as my holidays are going to be booked around the BCC Calendar!

Now that'll give you something to whinge about!

That's the kind of commitment we like to see from all our members! Will be good to see more of you.

I thought all members signed the application form to do exactly that! You mean we have a choice?

Well, you don't!

Mind you, if everybody turns up for the Xmas do, we will not all fit in the clubhouse!

Perhaps our shiny new committee should consider putting up the gazebos too?!!
