Hi again..

Boat Cleaninn...

Do you do it yerself or get someone else? If you get someone else... er how can I say this.....how much is it and is it worth it??

I'm afraid I'm lazy. I've got a local bloke who cleans inside and out for about £85 for 37ft but its not a proper job. About twice a season I pay a valeting company £200 to do a better job but, in the end, if you want it done properly, you've got to do it yourself which is what I do if I have the time

Agree with Deleted User. Boat cleaning never finishes, so all you can do is do a better job, not "all of it".

Sometimes best to find little man who is actually cleaning the boat, rather than someone in an office. "Marine Clean" on the s coast have a good name and i think do the boat show boats for fairline but not cheap. I have a problem hiring anyone older or fatter than me.

There's also the added benefit (in my marina at least) that virtually all the boat cleaners are young and female who just want to make some money to live in the sun and always seem to clean the boats in their bikinis. Naturally I need to be there when the boat's cleaned to make sure they do a proper job........

Its MarineClean who do my £200 a pop valet. They do a good job but they're far too expensive to use every time you take the boat out

I've learned to only park mine. Starboard to. That way you only ever see one side, so only half as much cleaning. Funny thing is. The other side never gets dirty.

Re: That explains a lot..

Now that puts my mind at rest, does that mean that all those bikini clad beauties, I see decorating the sunpads of superyachts are just the boat cleaners!
So obviously the larger boats need more cleaners, I thought it was all about sexual prowess or the size of my walet, what a relief.

You guys have all got too much money. I wash/polish my own boat and actually find it relaxing. When you do go around the boat yourself you find small potential problems which can usually be corrected at 'source' cheaply.
Will your 'bimbos' do that?
However I do see the attraction and ...ok I've changed my mind, forget the above

Indeed. The bikini-clad beauties so tired and sweaty after loads of boat-washing that Sstewart takes them out by the boatload for a rinse in the sea where they can take their old threadbare bikinis off and get them cleaned up which are the only clothes that they have, glmff.....

Mine gets cleaned twice a year, start/end of the season. It costs me 50 squids a time and the illegal immigrant that does it does a splendid job
