During the christmas storm, sacha was battered by a broken loose pontoon block. Sterling work by the marina staff at Pwllheli saved her from terminal damage but a couple of sq mtrs of gel coat was destroyed.
We have found out that there is a superb craftsman called Ginge in Pwllheli, his company is called Boatfix. He fixed it, he fixed it so good she looks like new! Everyone who looks at it is gobsmacked at the job he has done! I cannot recommend him too highly!

The mast was dropped because of the weather conditions prevailing when she was lifted and I took the opportunity to replace the forestay, recon the furler, recon the mast fittings and replace the cap shrouds. I also changed the volvo seal and cutlass bearing. I fitted LED nav lights and SWMBO scraped the hull and antifouled, she is as ready to go as she ever could be!

OO ER STU (Sacha does look good)

L is a star! Last time I saw you two together you left her up the top of the mast for far too long!

When you moving to your new pothole berth?

Glad to hear it is sorted.
Thanks all for the good wishes. She is sitting in the water looking really good. The rigger, Andy, set the rig up good and it now looks right, the best since I bought her. Also, because I got rid of the extra non connected 30mm of 10mm chain in the chain locker, she is sitting right in the water!

Andy from Handy Boatman, shares the workshop with Ginge Boatfix in the Calor Yard. He took down the mast, he was on holiday the week after, so I stripped the Facnor furler, stripped the cap shrouds, had a hell of a job getting the stainless pins out of the spreaders. Brought the stays home and eventually Eurospars, the delers for Facnor in the UK in Plymouth made me a new forestay and capshrouds from my measurements. I measured them carefully!!! The forestay was about £124, the cap shrouds about £114 each. Facnor spars are pigging expensive, the plastic deflector at the top was nearly a hundred notes!
Andy put the mast back up and tweaked it beautifully. I actually incorporated a turn buckle in the forestay, Beneteau don't do that (cost I assume?) so tweaking was better.
Am down this weekend, nearly opposite you
