So after new engines, exhaust, shafts, props, electronics, davits, staunchions, a shower, transducer, mast step, hatches, winch base and a recaulking, the boat is back in the water.

What has everyone else been up to (or in my case paying for) over the winter?

You mean you didn't replace the hull as well? Cheapskate!

That is a serious amount of replacements!

The hull is virtually fossilised after 76 years. It is only the modern bits (those installed after 1950 or so) that need replacing

Now I just have to work out how to replace the bank balance......

And today the new engines were started for the first time!

Props stayed attached and all. Feels like a new boat. Amazing how little movement there is compared to before in the shafts/bearings. Also new engines are so much quieter.

Maybe plastic would be a better material for a hull.....hang on - I best calm down now, starting to talk rubbish.

Soon as we start river trials, keep an eye out on the Chertsey weir in case it all goes wrong.
