How long before we see some boards do we think?

Was hoping to get out this weekend in the Hampton Court area - not looking likely though is it?

Thanks

I'm guessing you'll have more of an idea than most based on your experience.

Do you think the Sunbury - Molesey reach is going to be on a yellow board by Saturday?

Shouldn't be any problems this winter due to the extensive dredging carried out this summer by the EA!

Very interesting article in the Telegraph at the beginning of the week about ministers being interested in a solution offered by an Indian expert - basically lot of sluice gates to prevent/slow down flow into the rivers, whilst at the same time providing useful water in other areas.

The flow was normal as I passed through Kingston this afternoon. A bit windy though. Rain is forecast for tonight and Friday but it's not a deluge.

Really hope the boards stay off in the lower reaches until at least after Saturday.

Teddington Lock, any immediate concern?

I'm not back to work until Friday night , but looking at the trends , the upper end of the river appears to have peaked and be slowly tailing off. I'd expect a bit of shutting in tomorrow ( assuming no more rain ) which if they are only just on yellows should take them off.

Lower thames seems to be on the rise ,I'd expect pulling overnight at a couple of sites and then the others following suit at opening tomorrow. But without knowing what stage they are at in their pulling order , I wouldn't like to say. When I left on Monday evening , we had no gates running at Tedders. I still don't think yellows will be triggered on the lower thames by the weekend.

I could be completely wrong of course lol ;)

The trouble is that every sluice gate will need a lock if the river is navigable.
