Boarding Ramp

Unsure which model your vid shows, the one I thought closest from a brief glance is called the "Diana" but you can decide for yourself. It seems ordering can be done from the site, and there is a price list too, I would recommend being seated prior to perusing that. The smallest version of the Diana comes in at €8650 :eek:

Their entry level item appears to be a rather more 'reasonable' €2300. Have fun!

Wow, not cheap. Maybe they're made by Ferrari in their spare time.

I'm sure you could find a boat builder that would produce you one cheaper than that. You'd need someone with the right skills & CAD package to design it for the desired strength - obviously the shape has to be right to give it structural strength. Look for someone who builds carbon boats.

It's actually worse than it intially appears. I spent a few mins looking in more detail as they seem like rather nicely crafted pieces. The prices I listed above are actually without VAT, fittings or shipping.
 
If you search for boat passerelle you'll find it returns many variations on the theme. The carbon fibre ones are eye wateringly expensive although they are really light.
Two light weight solutions at affordable prices that I've seen are an adapted folding motorcycle ramp like this https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/401502517884 or a piece of aluminium ladder with either thin ply or aluminium sheet pop riveted in place. Neither have the panache of the carbon n fibre thing but itd leave your bank balance much healthier.

I noticed that later. I've a mate who's built a few one-off carbon racers. Might mention to him that there seems to be a business opportunity here.
 
Thank you for this, couldn't find these sites here but have now and yes, mouth wateringly expensive. think I'll return to the alu ladder and some ply.

The Caribbean isn't renowned for carbon fibre manufacturers of anything let alone boaty stuff!

I thought the distinction of a passerelle is that it is hinged to the right place on the yacht to swing down for access. In which case the weight is of less concern because the tackle takes care of that...

Complex but not quite so straightforward. Ours does not quite do as you say, needs a masthead halyard that we cannot rig at present. Not all passarelles are hinged.

I was going to post a sarcastic and totally unhelpful comment about Jeremy Rodgers (of Contessa 32 fame) in Lymington making you one for a only a few thousand but I'll post it in all seriousness now. In fairness the cost of carbon mat is horrendous and the trend for clear lacquer over the weave means the workmanship has to be top notch so the labour cost soars.

I mostly sail (charter) in the Med. I would feel jolly cheated if anyone described a plank as a passarelle! Not only do I expect it to be tethered and available for instant deployment but I want at least one handrail too! Even though cruise ships have "gangplanks" just like that...

Pls. Google 'GS Composite Carbon Gangways' Little bit heavier but reasonable prices.
