Boarded our boat yesterday

My boat is ashore in the yard. I was feeling guilty for stopping by on my morning cycle ride the other day to pump out a bit of rainwater. Then I passed someone unloading a car load of DIY supplies and the feeling went away.

I've visited my boat on a few occasions, built into my daily run/cycle ride. I can't see how that breaks the rules, spirit of the rules, or even the guidelines and I've read them in depth..

How do you draw that inference from what I wrote? I would expect the results of erosion or lifting of the lock-down at this stage to be the same. King Canute (or Cnut) was demonstrating the impossibility of controlling nature to the more stupid of his courtiers - I understand his motives only too clearly.
Apologies, I may have misunderstood you. I am of the camp who think that the Lockdown is now doing more harm than good in many ways and I am getting a little bit agitated. I must "calm down dear".

Why are we denying those that are say walking distance to their boat the yard is open and the boat is accessible without contact , ofc driving a journey is not reasonable , but is driving 10 miles to b and q reasonable to buy some potted plants for your garden . well yes for some this helps ease the lockdown in a stressful time , so does fixing the boat before it sinks, my boat is 50 miles away and I cannot justify the journey , but come on if its that close leave people alone.
Its like up here in Scotland some people live dam close to hills (like a walk to them) and go up them but still get abuse by the curtain twitchers

I inadvertently went the wrong way down a supermarket aisle today. I had to carefully reverse out. First sign of psycopathy or senility?

My marina rang yesterday and said they would switch of dehumidifiers or plug things if owners wanted them to. This was as part of a call to find out if I had problems paying (which I hadn't) about which they would be understanding. Now paid (unlike the rent from my commercial let to a firm of solicitors Grrr).

but is driving 10 miles to b and q reasonable to buy some potted plants for your garden .

No it's not, and the law prohibits it. You can only travel to B and Q to get stuff for things that actually need fixing/repair/maintenance. Once you're there to get your roofing felt for a leaking roof or whatever you can buy potplants or paint to improve your property but you can only travel to get the felt. In the same way you can only go to Tescos to do a Grocery shop. Once you're there you can buy a TV and a Coffee machine but you can't travel to Tesco purely to buy a TV.

So you are thinking all those ques are for maintenance and fixing essential items , so when I go to B and Q and buy a wood batten I say to hold my shed up , I still can load my trolley with plants, soil , some nice outdoor furniture , have a barbecue bought ,and I will fling in some paint for the house , plod comes along and says is it essential you say I bought this piece of wood and I am also allowed to buy anything else, who'd having the last laugh
Truly your faith in humanity not to twist he rules are pretty outstanding

People are starting to do their own thing now. Lockdown and the reason for it are fading in their minds. They just want to get on with their lives and find ways in their minds to justify their actions.
I am stuck in UK at the moment. My house is on a country lane that 30yrs ago was quiet. Ove t the years it has become the cut through for commuters, heavy goods wagons, shoppers and leaisure ctivity seekers going to the countryside.
Lockdown started and the road was so quiet that it was reminiscent of 30 yrs ago.
Over the first couple of weeks, traffic increased slightly but still much reduced.
For the last two weeks the traffic has risen to pre lockdown levels, good weather, diy shops being open in town and maybe companies finding ways to apply social distancing etc and getting the company going again.
Then this week 2 days of rain and generally crap weather.
Guess what? The traffic stopped and went back to the initial lockdown levels.
So where were all those people going. Obviously not work, not essential journeys because they'd do that rain or shine.
No, They were doing what they wanted to do regardless of the rules. Non essential shopping, leisure activity, driving round cruising with windows open and music blaring out.
Sun came back today, so did the traffic.
You don't have to be Einstein to see what is happening.
So other people see it happening and think Sod this I'll have some fun too.
That's where we're at right now in my area.
Lockddown needs to be quickly re- thought and modified for this stage of the epidemic, or it needs to be enforced, as it is, by the police.
The non adherance initially made people angry, but is now leading people down the path of following suit and breaking the rules.
