BMW D35 Engine

Anyone have knowledge/views on this engine - I am looking at a boat with one fitted. I think it is the -2 version with fresh-water cooling.

I get the impression parts will be hard to find...

Same as mine. Parts are easily available, along with helpful advice, from PH Marine. Mine is raw water cooled but otherwise the same. Easy to work on provided it hasn't been crammed in. Not as refined as more modern types but a sturdy workhorse nonetheless (BMW..... clue is in the name). I have workshop manual and parts manual if you need it. Can't comment on your particular engine but I certainly wouldn't say it's a negative point in your purchasing deliberations.

Welcome
I am a user of D35 and I have a problem. If you can help, I'd appreciate it.
The problem is that when we increase the engine speed, the engine does not respond to attempt to reduce turnover. Control cable works, control lever works too. Turnover does not fall, only when I press the "stop" the engine slows down.
Do you have any idea what it could be?
Sorry of my low englisch
Regards
Leszek
