Hi there, I have a BMC 2.5 Diesel engine which had some parts missing. I have managed to identify most but I am having difficulty with the air intake. Below the heat exchanger is an intake manifold with the name"DOMOW" on it. It has two branches merging to one outlet which is very similar to a normal car exhaust fitting. It is oval with two studs. Can anyone tell me if there is an air filter designed to fit directly, or an adapter which would allow a normal filter to be used.
Thankyou. Lucna54 (Sorry its a bit long winded!)

I believe you are reading it upside down. It will be "MOWOG" (Morris Wolsley Garages) who made most manifolds and airfilters used on BMC cars.

Re: Lucan, while you\'re here...

it might be worth looking in a ca accessory shop for a pancake type filter or depending how much room you have a piece of reinforced hose on the outlet and fit a remote off the shelf filter,if you are cruising out of the uk try and use a remote type that you can get spares for

You are right and this is one of the best ways of getting parts for them. A friend of mine needed bits for his 2.5 BMC and he found them through a firm that supplies parts to old taxis. When I see him next I can ask him which one it was.

Thank you all very much for the information, and the link to the taxi spares company. I must say I was very surprised at the speed of the answers, and the knowledge out there. Lucan.
