hi was wondering if anyone could tell me if bmc petrol engine marinising parts are interchangeable with any of the bmc diesels ie manifolds heat exchangers etc
thanks fro looking steve
I had a BMC 1.5L van/truck engine which somebody converted to marine use with a lot of BMC (petrol) Navigator bits. Cost me £300 installed and went for about 12/13 years, replaced with a £8k Nanni which lasted 5.5 years!
hi thanks for the reply .do you know if the water cooled exhaust manifold fitted .this seems to be the main part that would cause a problem . as a new one is a mortgage job cheers
Generally heat exchangers for petrol engines are not compatible with diesels due to the fact the diesels run warmer than petrol, so need a larger capacity heat excahnger, unless the petrol marinization has had the a bigger one fitted.
thanks for all the replies guys ,been and got a marinised ford diesel off ebay now ,so got a few bits for sale ie complete marinised bmc 1.5 petrol ,if anyone interested cheap !
