The BM1 monitor connected to 2x 85 amp batteries on board never shows any amps put in
although it shows amps being fed in from solar panel and when the engine is running .
It always shows the total amps used / out but never total amps charged /put in ?

I seem to remember it did when it was first installed , but now it always show 0 in ?

any suggestions , please ?

If I understand your description correctly the instantaneous ammeter function is indicating correctly (either a charge or a discharge) ...... but the cumulative A/hr counter is only ever counting the discharge current? If this is the case it does indeed sound like a fault in the BM-1.

If you have not done so already, I would suggest first of all try removing the permanent +12v supply from the BM-1 for a minute or so (remove the inline fuse). Does the A/hr reset function (long press on A/hr button) work correctly when the counter is showing a net discharge? Out of interest, does the 'percentage charge remaining' function indicate anything that at least makes some sense (we all know it is notoriously inaccurate and best ignored).

That's how I understood the OP. So it sounds like a fault in the unit.

(Yes this is what is happening .)

yes the % charge remaining still works as do all the other functions , it is just the charge amps in that records nothing going in .
only dicharged / amps used .
but thanks for the suggestion I will disconnect the unit today to see if it helps , and will post back the results .
