I'm looking for advice on Blue Tooth mobile phone headsets.
At present when my phone rings it doesn't ring on the headset so if I am doing anything noisy I don't hear it. I need one that rings both the phone and the headset.

Byron. I can give you two pieces of advice concerning bluetooth headsets but ultimately the advice is don't use them. 1. Bluetooth headsets transmit and receive on a radio frequency in the region of 2.5 ghz. Guess what frequency your microwave oven cooks at? Albeit that the output from a headset is low, it is still not good to fry what brain cells you have left (no offence you understand) 2. The other important thing is that, the headsets in no way enhance ones looks and Byron, you need all the help you can get. (no offence you understand). So if you need hands free for use in a vehicle, stop being a tight ase and buy a proper handsfree car kit.

Best wishes

Thanks for the advice /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
However! I would look a bit silly fitting hands free kits to both my tractor mowers which is where I really need them. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Actually comparing a Microwave transmission of 650-850 watts is a non-no. Even your VHF pushes out 25 Watts at maximum. Blue tooth operates at appx. 1 Mw. which is somewhat less to say the least. (you do that math I can't without an abacus)

Seriously when I'm charging around on my tractors I don't hear a thing and don't even feel the phone vibrate. I need something in my lughole.

The Jabra 250 that I have does everything you're asking Byron and more. It vibrates too! Further, it has long gel ear piece that extents right into your ear. I can even hear peeps when driving the Ex-Mil Lt/Wt Land Rover at 50.

I bought one from Halfords which does all that - perhaps there's a setting on yours which needs activating - look at the instructions if all else fails.

Couldn't find anything in the nerdbook. My brother says they are rubbish anyway (he should know) and reccomends the Plantronics. Anyway I have now given mine away.
