Has anybody opinions on this - we're on the verge of cancelling our holiday due to start next Thursday - 2.5 weeks Hurley to Abingdon and back - because we have a dog who just lives for swimming etc. Many reports on Henley FB groups re severely ill dogs locally. We're lucky to have a boat also on East Coast so can go there, but all my focus has been on getting my Thames boat ready to go.

A low level of blue/green algae was detected some weeks ago in my marina and warning notices were displayed. Usually confined to still water so unlikely in main river.
Lots to read about on EA website if you google it.

Doubt any reason to restrict your Thames upriver plans as long as you are aware. We did Windsor to Abingdon and back a couple of weeks ago with no issues - although our Westie won't go near water unless its to drink it !
