Went to take me little wellcraft round to lift out today (antifoul etc) the blooming button in the middle of the control which alows one to rev out of gear got stuck in, refused to come out again so no gears. Had to get the engineer to remove outboard engine cover and manually move her into gear to get her to the lift bay.

Think its called Quicksilver 3000 series controls. Anyone else had a prob with these?

Could you give instructions please Barry. I've got one of these and given my recent run of luck its bound to happen to me in the near future.

Incidentally my throttle control is very stiff when engaged in gear (more so in reverse) but not so when disengaged - ie with the button in, the engine rev's freely (and sounds bloody lovely) - do you think this is likely to be the Quicksilver control or at the engine/gearbox end?

Take it off the boat disscconnect the cables. Dismantle said control and grase all the moving parts. Put back together reconnect the cables and screw back into boat. All the little nuts and washers left over from above can be safely chucked over the side......job done.

Stiff frottle. I would see if the cables were running freely first.
