Last two races of the Winter Brass Monkeys: Cancelled due to too much wind

New Years day race: Cancelled due to too much wind

Throughout January: Breeze strong enough to require the kids to be tied down , old ladies reported being blown down the street and the occasional tile coming off the roof.

This morning: Week 1 of the Brass Monkeys String Series. Fog & no wind

Bu**er

Must be pretty frustrating if you have a wind turbine and want consistent 50Hz 240v...........

Well, couple of me supportive crew volunteered to test drive the Wessex Chemicals teak cleaner & restorer. Does what it says on the plastic 5l jug. Winter grime removed and boat looking lovely.

20K on the push bike at an average of 25kph, so not a completely wasted day. Hopefully next weekend we'll get some SAILING!

Quite right about bloomin' weather. Down here the daffodils, camellias, snowdrops etc are in full flower. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

BTW the Royal Western sailed the fourth week of their Yacht Parts Winter Laser Series in glorious sunshine this morning. Two races, back to back, in Plymouth Sound. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

We also have Lupins through, Dahlia shoots, Poppies etc.

First hint of snow or frost and the lot will be kaput!

It was nice on the clyde on saturday - wind was variable 5-10knots , but it was good to be out /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Some folks even got a snooze!

Is that the Lady Pickles?
Why is it they all sit there, usually complaining the big sail is hiding the sun.

Was that one of the 5-or-less knots moments?
Lovely day though.

ahhh, you lucky sod. Good to see that you have kept your boat in the the water all winter. Makes days like this so much more satisfying as you drive past the boiler suited folks in the boat park.
