It is a well-known fact that the Welsh Colregs are mainly concerned with sheep-related close quarters situations.

Ah! But what sort of pointy stick, a big hammer and a bit of string?

[/ QUOTE ]

best be careful. The ends of some pointy sticks bend when they hit a rock. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Sorry, Kwakker, but Romans did not "give up at Caernarfon" They crossed the Straits & gave the then Brits (who are now claiming to be Welsh) a jolly good pasting. Having pretty well destroyed Mon, they then retired back to their fort outside Cearnarfon camp & left Anglesey to rot - bless'em.

[ QUOTE ]
Went for a bike ride on the national cycle route along the canal last night when I spotted this old lady using an umbrella to sail her coracle.

[/ QUOTE ]
That's not an umbrella she is displaying but a sea-anchor which she is drying out having possibly used it further along the waterway to slow her COG.

Oh, and she won't need a "pointy stick" as she is probably wearing stilettos which she will use instead. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Apparantly, according to Local Folklore.
Great Great Great and a few more Great's Grandfather kawasaki (the traitor e must av got a Bung) guided the Romans across Lavan sands.

He'd hit em loads of times in His coracle so knew where they where.

So nowts changed then really /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Not the best idea in a coracle I wouldn't have thought. Come to think of it I don't know many stilletto wearers who own coracles anyway.

As I said in my OP, she was an old lady and I don't think stilettos were part of her ensemble. Filthy waxed jacket and a sour demeanor, but not heels.
