I Think you have got the wrong Forum.... this is Motor Boats not Sailing!!!!

Buy a proper boat with an engine.

As Jim says - buy a proper boat. Don't be messimg about with blow-alongs, they are bad for your health and raise your blood pressure. They make you look old before your time and give you a miserable demeanour.

Get a twin engine something and rejuvinate your youthfulness!!

I can see you are talking mine kind of boat.

Not sure I agree on the twin engines, not as much fun as the single engined petrol.

740HP is alot but not when pushing 44ft, 135hp and no weight, 1850 Bayliner, much more fun.

I wonder what a comparison between the blood pressure levels of rag 'n stick types versus those who prefer old bus engines in their bilges would reveal? /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

And while I'm on, why does the process of 'marinising' a perfectly good lorry engine capable of 500,000 miles with barely a service turn it into a fragile device that breaks on a weekly basis and needs it's own purchase price in annual maintenance? /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

Bloody good question!! And one I have been musing over for a year or so. I have come to the conclusion that it isn't the base block that gives all the problems, its the crappily made peripherals that go to make up the marinisation that are at fault. Oh- it might also have something to do with sea-water...

Boat ownership in general should have a health warning placed on it,MoBoer's are probably more prone to this madical condition than most, given what we get charged for things when they go wrong!!!

Now where's my tablets??
