First time user of Rapidograph (0.18) to correct charts. Bit of a disaster as once ink is running get bead of ink on the tip of the nib which duly deposits itself on the paper. Had to abandon the operation and haven't got time to investigate alternatives. Any ideas how to stop beads forming?

Back in th'olden days when I used to have to use them regularly at work, I used to just use a tissue to wipe the tip clean before drawing.

the needle and cap/translucent reservoir need to be immaculately clean and using proper ink. Any dried ink can allow air into the reservoir and to form drips.

Also, they don't like being used at an angle; much better at 90degs to the paper.

Also thought. It is possible to put the wrong needle into the pen.

Sorry if grandmother/eggs.

I now use Eddings 8404 Aeorspace markers; they are designed to put permanent ink onto aircraft parts (metal, plastic, labels, etc)
