Can we have some more pictures of the battery charger? I'd like to know what is on the other side of it, or even inside the unit. What was that bulkhead like *before* the battery charger was installed, and are then any closeups of the shop where it was bought, and perhaps the manual?

You\'re a fraud and a vagabond sir!!

With 1 year and 887 posts, how can you claim to be a newbie?? :)

Love the piccies though, especially the camping ones. I intend to do this with my boat next year.

Re: You\'re a fraud and a vagabond sir!!

The reason i called myself an 'Old Newbie', is that i have only been sailing for 2 seasons now, and still have a lot too learn, and usually learn something new each time i take the boat out.

Glad you like the pics. The camping 1 was our very first overnight out of the marina. There were 8 boats in all(not all in pic) and mine was the furthest away,(bit paraniod about hitting another boat during night), A few people mentioned i wouldn't sleep much that night due to worrying, But i tell you 4bottles of scotch, let me have a great nights sleep.

Its a bit like the Album of yours regarding the delivery of your Leopard,
I am sure before you paid for it, you went to inspect it, and as i saw you photograghed every nook and cranny. Which is what i did before i paid for her.

The reason for the pic of the charger, is i was hoping someone could tell me what is so special about it? The Dealer when fitting it was having Orgasims about it. I still don't know why?!!!

But sure, i could post pictures of say the batteries, fuse box, engine, fuel tank, the gear oil container, even the manual in fact anything you want. I really think you may consider a boat like this for yourself.....as a tender, aren't you???/forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

Thanks for looking..

Tsk! Battery Chargers are not all the same

Well, I'm not at all surprised he was wetting himself. That's a Mobitronic that is, the top-of-the range 925-012TD ! Twenty-five amps wooooh!! It's a switch-mode double charger unit which not only has massive range of input voltage ranges - perfect for sometimes unreliable shore supply BUT with it being a double charger it can charge more than one battery AND does it in a special way - initially the weaker unit is charged and THEN the stronger one- much better than just normal straight charge for both batteries. There's even an optional temperature sensor too which would make it even better!

Re: Tsk! Battery Chargers are not all the same

ARE YOU BEING SERIOUS.????

I don't know much about these things.. Should i leave it on permanently?

Currently i switch it off when i leave the boat at the weekend. But now the boats been winterized i only go up and check it once a month, and i am worried about the battery going flap, cause of the bilge pump. Should i leave the charger on all the time?

Re: Tsk! Battery Chargers are not all the same

if there's nothing switched on, you are fine to leave the charger off.

Only thing is off course, if the bilge pump needs to operate it'll flatten the batttery after a while, and then the boat sinks . But, if you leave it on all the time then it's not too great for the batteries - but they should cut out when no charge needed so not that bad really. If you switch it off, may as well disconnect the shorepower too. I leave mine on, as can afford to get new batteries, but don't fancy a sunk boat. There's no utterly right or wrong answer on this, i believe.

Erm, i was being a bit flippant about the charger. But I am right about the model, i think.

Re: Tsk! Battery Chargers are not all the same

Thanks for that.

I think i should do the same as you, Leave the charger on. I would rather have to replace the batteries, than the whole boat.

Now that is why i put a picture of the battery charger in the album.

Thanks

Alistairr

We leave you alone for a day and look what happens - you go all public on us.
Publishing pictures of yourself - you should be ashamed.

and then advertising picutres of the loverly "Indy" - all sparkly and shinny and new.

Next time you'll have to come down South where David and I can keep an eye on you. /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

BTW - Solitaire is ace - 30knts wind over tide + solent chop - ACE. She is so graceful in the air and lands back in the water beautifully.
Cheers David /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

Hi Pete.

The BIII Is good. And yes i did antifoul, in white, (big mistake) It turns yellow very quickly.

I think when i re-do it it will need to be blue.....Unless someone knows a white, that stays white!!
