I've halfheartedly started scraping off 9 years of antifouling. but don't fancy being stretched out on my back on the cold earth in this weather. Does anyone know of a slurry (?) blaster in NW England that they can recommend, and, if so, how much will it cost for a 7.7 metre boat?

Not so much lazy as old with an aching back. It seems that part of the joy of sailing is to cripple oneself every Spring before launching. I take it that it's no gain without pain, so I'll have to have a another go this week-end.

That's the spirit!

I scraped 15 years worth off the old man's boat last year, it was real coal mine stuff. Anyway, it was very satisfying to feel the smooth hull afterwards - and then I could put the new antifouling on with a roller, as apposed to slapped on with a three inch brush!

Hopefully this year, it'll just need a light wet & dry!
