The clubs on the Blackwater & Colne are organising 5 coordinated sailing events in 2014.

Should see some large fleets in the estuary.

Great to see. Since I'm trying to organise some 'cruiser' events at my sailing club, I think it would be great if I could get a few of our club to tag along to these events..

If your proper boat is a sailing boat and it satisfies the safety req's then you're not just allowed but positively encouraged. There's a handicap sub comm with reps from clubs on both rivers who'll set a LH for all boats. Classes for irc and white sail.

If your proper boats a motor cruiser then you're also welcome on the ostend rally.
