Been out with a pal today on a Jeannau 40. Bronze Seacocks replaced 5 seasons ago have inside the boat gone black. Is this likely to be a problem or just oxidation which could be polished out - if you had time and inclination ?

And cold metal in a humid environment gets damp with condensation. One of the reasons I like the TruDesign, no condensing water on cold metal so things are a bit more dry.

Wondering if electrical wires turn black for the same reason ?
Raw copper will turn black. I have seen untinned copper wires on my previous boat turn black for 2 metres up inside the insulation. The resistance goes so high that the conductor is no longer conducting. Scrap wires needing replacement.
