I have an elderly but sound B&D mains drill Model S3H17, 450 watt, but the trigger switch is only making intermittent contact.
Does anyone on the forum know of where I can obtain a replacement switch unit?
Thanks for any info, as otherwise it looks like it will be scrap and yet it is a good goer if one can hold the switch just so.

You dont say where you are but B&D do have spares shops/ stockists. Used to be good but not needed anything for many years.

http://www.blackanddecker.co.uk/store-locator/ worth a try

You might be able to clean up or fettle-up the existing switch

Thse drills often have a 2 pole switch. ie the active an neutral are both switched. So 2 switches must make contact. They can often be rewired to put the 2 switches in parallel only switching the active. Hence 2 switches any one of which makes contact will give go. This may be the case with yours and solve the problem. good luck olewill
