Can the forum point me in the direction of a source of caps to prevent my fingers being slashed to pieces by the sharp ends of jubilee clips whenever I reach into a cupboard to turn off sea cocks. I seem to remember a cover that slipped over the end.

There are industrial clamps similar in operation to the noxious Jubilee clip, BUT with a bolt and nut and hidden overide of the stainless steel overlapping part, rather than the overlapping razor edges! Found lots at the scrap yard.... new in 316 ss they cost 8X the price of the razor Jubille clips!

How about using a pair of round-nose pliers to bend the end back on itself?

Never tried it myself but it ought to work. Personally, when I catch my hand on a Jubilee clip I just curse loudly, reach for the nearest bit of dirty rag to staunch the bleeding and tell myself - "I must do something about that clip one of these days"
