We are taking the boat by truck this summer to La Rochelle (wanted to that last year but didnt...) and come back by boat.

We leave there the 29/07, plan is to get back the 15/08 in Oostende but its possible, if time runs out or we like a particular place, that we leave the boat in a harbour and come back the next weekends to get closer to home.

I know some posters here seem to know a lot on this region, so please advice if i am missing super spots.

planning is to take almost only the islands so route is as follows:

La rochelle
Ile de Ré
Ile de Yeu
Belle ile & Houat-Hoedic
Ile de Groix
Iles de Glenan
Ile d'Ouessant
Ile de Batz
Ile de Brehat
Guernsey (fuel)
Jersey ( fuel)
Iles Chausey
dinard / st Malo (for visit)
Guernsey (fuel)
st vaast la Hougue
Dieppe or surroundings
Oostende

Last year we did the Baie the la Seine (Normandy) so we wont go that side this year

Plan is to take steps of about 45M a day maximum but if ness we can push on.

Any advice from the forum members is greatly apriciated !

You'd be mad to miss out on the Golfe du Morbihan and the River Villaine whilst you are passing. It's gorgeous territory - not to be missed!

Whats the rush. The marina costs for winter berths in S Brittany are very reasonable compared to UK (Don't know what they are where you are) Travel a while ,tour a while find a nice spot yto leave the boat and go back for a few days at a time
I started towards Gib in 2004 and am still no further than Royan. This season starting south on1 May and will be in Cadiz for the winter.

I am hoping to do South Brittany in 2006 but I Know N Brittany and Normandie as I live in Guernsey.

Ile de Batz is not a nice anchorage unless you have legs and can ground , anchor off explore on a hired bicycle , it does not take long and move on to Trebeurden about 15 miles away a lovely marina and a great beach or Ploumanach a stunning situation and well worth a night good moorings afloat.

A day ashore in Sept isles about 3 miles from Ploumanach is a nice stop , a nice run on to Brehat but unless you can take the ground not great anchorages so in to Paimpol or St Quay Portrieux open 24 hrs.

If you have time Binic and Dahouet are nice.

Guernsey for cheap fuel If you have Time Carteret is rather special.

Cherbourg is worth a visit for the Marime museum and the Nuclear submarine .

I dont know how well you know the bay of the Seine i did that last summer and loved , St Vast La Hougue, Dives sur mer, Deauville and Honfleur.

Look out for a fairline 36 Sedan Bandit our paths may cross.

Robih,

Been thinking about the Golfe,
could be that we stay longer in that area (weather is better /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif) and come up during the weekends. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Any nice habours in that area?

thanks

Francky,

Good idea tom come down in steps, but i only have 1 on 2 WE free so must be lucky with the weather each time we get to the boat!

What is your boat & its name, maybe w'l see each other underway this summer!

Would be nice to meet some forumites under way!

Bandit,

"Ile de Batz is not a nice anchorage unless you have legs and can ground , anchor off explore on a hired bicycle , it does not take long and move on to Trebeurden about 15 miles away a lovely marina and a great beach or Ploumanach a stunning situation and well worth a night good moorings afloat."

Thanks about that, i'l change my route to Trebeurdin instead, wasnt shure about Batz.

the bay of the Seine we know pretty wel, done St Vast La Hougue and its Ile de Tatihou (wow) ,Courseuilles, Deauville and Honfleur (wow too but +50% for MOBO's /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif).

"Look out for a fairline 36 Sedan Bandit our paths may cross. " Will do !

Yes Honfleur is 50% more but 50% more than not a lot is still cheap I think I paid about 40 Euros per day and It is very special and well worth a visit.
